Training introduction:
The aim of the training is to teach participants assertive behaviour skills. At the beginning of every relationship, partners establish a certain balance of power between them. If the balance cannot be established and the power relationship remains skewed, serious conflicts can arise. Through timely self-assertion, it is possible to reduce the likelihood of destructive conflicts. Self-assertion means a person's ability to express themselves and defend their rights without infringing on the rights of others. It is business-like, direct, and honest communication. Assertiveness certainly does not mean the same as aggressive behaviour. Assertive behaviour is effective in situations of praise, criticism, and discussion. Assertive behaviour is also a tool when it is necessary to say "no."
The training is aimed at all people who have to communicate with other people, i.e., each of us. Participants will receive learning materials that cover the main key issues.
Topics covered in the training:
- Mechanisms governing human behaviour
- The secret to good relationships – the balance of power and status in a relationship
- Managing relationships according to the power-status model
- Self-assertion as an opportunity to find balance in a relationship
